NW History Consortium Summer Workshop
Everett, WA July 15-18, 2008

The Northwest History Consortium will be hosting a summer workshop in Everett, Washington this summer for American History teachers, and would like to extend an invitation to anyone grades 5-12 who might be interested!

The Vision:            Address the need to equip our students with the knowledge and skills needed to become productive, informed and insightful citizens through an understanding of American History.

The Goals:

·        Develop teachers’ pedagogical content knowledge

·        Provide alternatives to traditional stand and deliver classrooms

·        Develop appropriate assessment strategies

·        Provide collaborative professional development experiences supported by technology for history teachers

·        Support history curriculum through collaboration with professors at Institutions of Higher Education

The workshop will be held at the Holiday Inn, July 15^th through the 18th, 2008. Teachers will receive lodging, travel and meal expenses, in addition to a $350.00 stipend.  OPI renewal units will be available.  Also, university credits will be available for a fee.
